Awesome Luminox Swiss watch

This watch ticks off a quite a few items on my "gotta have it" list: 316L stainless case, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, 200 meter water resistance, GMT hand, tritium-tube dial, Swiss quartz movement. And the price point was great, with excellent delivery! For those who have worries about how a 45.5 mm watch looks on a "typical" male wrist, I've attached a photo of the watch on my wrist. For those who have questions about the brightness of the tritium tubes, I've attached a photo of my watch in the dark. Believe me, T25 tubes generate plenty of light for night time viewing.Go for it!!! (Posted on 12/16/2017)

Great watch. Inside of strap is leather so you may want to protect it. I use mink oil w/a hair dryer to "warm" the leather and helps it to be absorbed. The bezel and base are as and are darker than they appear. The illumination "glow" is not as bold as other Luminox models yet is visible. Overall a very good product. (Posted on 12/16/2017)

Love it. Definitely a well built watch that goes nicely with my watch collection. I have a lot of Swiss made watches and this one is well built. A sapphire crystal, well stitched band, and at a great price through Amazon. (Posted on 12/16/2017)

Amazing Sapphire Watch for under $300

I have been looking at the Luminox watches for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Watch arrived 2 weeks ago, on time, and I was very impressed with initial appearances. I read the other reviews ahead of time and the descriptions were all accurate: it is darker than it appears in the image; the GMT color clashes with the hour/minute hands; and the strap is stiff. Unlike other users, I have worn the watch for the last 2 weeks with the supplied strap and have found no issues with comfort. The biggest selling point for me was the night time illume and it is awesome. I never owned a Luminox before and could not believe how bright it is. In addition, I was skeptical about how the case/sapphire would hold up (considering its sub $300) but it is SOLID. After 2 weeks of heavy use the only portion of the watch showing wearing is the watch strap (its broken in now...probably why a lot of people complained about the stiffness on initial wear). Highly recommend, if your thinking about it, get it. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because I have had no luck adjusting the GMT hand. You can't find a better sapphire watch for this price. (Posted on 12/16/2017)

PROs - Time keep is 'spot-on' haven't touched it since initial setting - GMT is accurate and easy to read - Functionally simple

This my second Luminox: I've owned this for almost a year.PROs- Time keep is 'spot-on' haven't touched it since initial setting- GMT is accurate and easy to read- Functionally simple: not cluttered with other 'never used features'. i.e: Stopwatch chronograph, etc.- This is a 45.5mm case nice size if vision is an issueCONs- Even though I've had this for almost a year, I have worn it less than a month due to the uncomfortable wristband. Personally for me (and this may not be an issue for you) I was not a big fan of the wrist band. Granted, it looks great: outside ballistic nylon weave and leather (skin side) - but just not comfortable for me. I purchased a replacement 24mm nato band 2-for-1 - And now I love it! (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XL61GPS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00)- This is a 45.5mm it's gonna look huge if you have small wrists- It is a bit heavy - manufacture could've shaved a few grams. The original band adds a few grams as well, plus the discomforting fit (for me) gives an illusion of added weight. But not anymore.- Luminous not a bright as my 3000 navy seal seriesNIT-PICKThe hour and minute hand color is blue; the GMT hand is orange. They should've switched colors, which would produce a better read on time on quick glances. The color configuration will take some time to adjust to.SUMMARYThe main watch body 4/5The wristband 2/5The main watch with new nato band 4.5/5 (Posted on 12/16/2017)

To all who answered my original question of how bright the lume (tritium) is - thanks again - and any who are interested: I received the watch and overall it is outstanding for a sub-$500 watch!. The lume is not --really-- bright as others have already stated, but is easily readable in darkness and some types of near-darkness (movie theater, watching TV at night, etc.), even with my middle-aged eyes. I really like the watch at first glance, so hopefully it holds up as well as others have said it does. If I have any problems I'll repost. The band isn't uncomfortable for me but I like a zulu band on most of my watches anyway, so I have ordered one of those to see how it feels. The watch is a bit heavy, but nothing worse than a Seiko Diver or Orient Mako dive watch, so it feels comfortable to me. So far, if you like these types of watches, I would recommend adding it to your collection. I am a science type of guy and especially space exploration of any kind, so the XCOR Aerospace affiliation is just icing on the cake for me... Cool!---------------Adding a picture with the Zulu band and one more of the lume in the dark. So far the time has stayed accurate. (Posted on 12/16/2017)

'Lumen' Dimmer than Timex Indiglo

I'm bumping this up to 4 stars, it's such a cool watch that it makes up for being too dim.As many of the other reviews and answers stated, this watch is not bright at all. I compare all watches that claim to have some sort of glow feature to my $40 Timex Indiglo, so when I saw this brand I was hopeful. It has lumen in the name for crying out loud.Sadly it is incredibly dim. Disappointingly dim. So dim that for me it won't ever be a five star watch.Which is disappointing because this watch is awesome! It is incredibly solidly built, it's got some weight to it. The sapphire crystal is very apparent and almost shimmers. It's got a lot going for it that I might otherwise label as five star quality. the crown is a screw in/out type which I believe maintains water resistance.I've only had the watch a short while, so I will continue to evaluate it and update my review accordingly. normally Luminox has great watches. i own 4. started with the inexpensive navy seal dive watch. the glow effect was extremely bright. then stepped up to an all metal dressier watch. again glow effect was amazing. then bought the Recon Point Man. after a year and a half the glow effect was almost gone. contacted Luminox about warranty service and they would not honor the warranty since Amazon is not a authorized seller and would charge me $180 to fix a watch i paid $250 for. you're asking then why buy another from Amazon? recently amazon started using an outside company for warranty work. stated as this: Warranty: 2-Year Amazon.com Warranty provided by Asurion, instead of the manufacturer. so i bought this watch as it looked very cool. 1st they don't use different color gas cylinders as they do on their other watches. this one is all one color. kind of a grayish white is the best description. in the pitch black of the night you can barely and i mean barely see them. the watch looks nice but the luminous functionality is a joke.
